A note from our founders

Like so many other entrepreneurial journeys, the spark that inspired us to start Spotlight came to us by a (not-so-happy) accident. 

Our story starts about ten years ago. We were working at the same consulting firm, chasing a huge eCommerce project that would make our year. After a ton of work and multiple elimination rounds, we found ourselves one of three finalists to win the business. After the final in-person proposal review, our sponsor pulled us aside to let us know that they contacted Forrester to validate the finalists; turns out we weren’t on the right Wave, and the analysts had never heard of us. Just like that, we found ourselves out in the cold, wondering how these industry analysts influenced our deal. 

Two years and little investigation later, we started Spotlight Analyst Relations. 

As we set out to build Spotlight, we realized we had an opportunity to create the kind of company we always dreamed of working for. A mission-based company that fiercely builds a reputation for excellence, that tirelessly grows talent, that consistently delivers outstanding value to its stakeholders, and that does so by sustaining a differentiated corporate culture.

We’re now seven-plus years into our journey, and we’re humbled by both the quality of people who have chosen to hire us and the quality of people who have chosen to work for us. Our mission to be the go-to resource for analyst relations pros remains our true north, and our ambition of being the best place to work remains non-negotiable.
